Fort Lauderdale (USA), 17th-20th January 2025
The ISCRC (International School Choice and Reform Conference) is a forum where the latest research and experiences related to school choice are exchanged and discussed. This year, the conference gathered 200+ policy makers, researchers and educator over 3 days in Florida.
OIDEL presented the FEI 23 which was met with great interest as it brought to the table a human rights approach that is not always present in school choice discussions. Josyane Zingg presented the findings of the report and made emphasis on how the report can be used by the local actor to advance freedom of education in any context. On the panel were also Christy Wolfe, Senior Vice President of National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and Leslie Hiner, Vice President of Legal Affairs of EdChoice. While Mrs. Wolfe discussed the meaning of freedom of education for US charter schools, Mrs. Hiner focused on the merit the FEI 23 has for national and international advocacy purposes.
The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A.
During the conference, we connected with researchers from different universities and think tanks and we look forward to the new research collaborations will come out of these new relationships.
